Which turn signal kit should I get for my UTV?
Fact: Most UTVs do have Running Lights (parking lights) in the rear. When you turn the key on the rear tail lights illuminate.
Fact: Most UTVs do not have Running Lights (parking lights) in the front. If you drive your UTV around at night, running lights are an added safety factor. In addition, the more lights the better the visibility. Finally, if you do not drive at night, then don’t wast your money as you will not use them.
If you choose to go with Running Lights (parking lights), then the SM LED Running Lights & Turn Signal Kit #107-SM will be your choice.
Meanwhile ask yourself the next question.
Fact: The 4” x 2” inch LED lights may add some extra cost for our custom mounting brackets. In addition, if you choose our custom mounting brackets that will add some extra time for installation. Finally, the 4” x 2” lights have more illuminated surface area, but they take more space on the UTV for mounting.
Fact: The ¾” inch round super bright LED lights require very little space for mounting. First of all, no brackets, just drill a ¾” inch hole, insert the rubber grommet and press in the light. In addition, you can add as many LED lights as you desire, to give your UTV a custom look. Finally, the ¾” inch round LED lights are the most popular, easiest to install and the least expensive.
If you choose the 4” x 2” inch LED lights, then the LED Turn Signal Kit #105 will be your choice.
If you choose the ¾” inch LED lights, then the SM LED Turn Signal Kit #104 will be your choice.
Fact: Some UTVs do not have room for a column mounted turn signal switch and some just do not like that type of switch. However, the column mounted turn signal switch is the safest and easiest to operate. Therefore, we recommend that you install a column mounted turn signal switch (if you have the steering column space) for your added safety. Most importantly a column mounted turn signal switch is located in the same area as your automobile. As a result, it comes natural for activating while keeping your eyes on the road.
Note FYI: I have heard people say that a column mounted Turn Signal Switch is in the way of you entering and exiting the unit, not true! To clarify, they say you will bump the TSS lever with your legs and even break the lever, again not true! Subsequently, I am 6’3″ and 250 pounds, I have never bumped the TSS and I use my units multiple times a day. In addition I have sold thousands of the column mounted turn signal switches. Most importantly, I have never had a customer complain about bumping or breaking one.
What turn signal kit should I get for my ATV (quad)?
Fact: Most ATV’s (quads) install the toggle switches on the steering head instrument cluster area. Likewise it has easy accessibility for activation and again to turn them off. Most noteworthy, having the toggle switches type turn signals is better than not having turn signals at all.
Fact: Most toggle switch turn signal kits on the market today DO NOT have emergency flashers. However, our Toggle Switches LED Turn Signal Kit #604, DOES!
Fact: Most ATVs (quads) do not have much room for mounting LED lights. Also, we recommend LED lights because the battery and charging system on an ATV is small and you don’t want to abuse either.
If you choose to install turn signals on your ATV, then our Toggle Switches LED Turn Signal Kit #604 with ¾” inch round super bright LED lights, will be your choice.
